Apple cancels the AirPower wireless charging mat, citing quality issues
It’s official. Today, Apple cancelled its perennially delayed wireless charging product, AirPower. In a statement, Cupertino blamed issues meeting its own quality standards. Here’s what Dan Riccio, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, said in a statement emailed to TechCrunch: “After much effort, we’ve concluded AirPower will not achieve our high standards and we have cancelled the project. We apologize to those customers who were looking forward to this launch.
